The Milford Lions Club held its first “Not Just an Ugly Dog Contest” on Sunday, Sept. 5. Judges were Tim McOsker of McOsker Kennels, Amherst; Deniece Johnson of Good Mojo Dog Center, Milford; Lisa Crowley owner of Lucky Dog Grooming Salon, Milford; Gary Daniels, friend of the Lions and Milford selectman; and Gerry Smith a friend of the Lions.

Sanger approves shelter upgrade

SANGER - The City Council approved a budget amendment for $15,000 worth of improvements to the animal shelter, after touring the facility before its regular meeting Tuesday night. The city is expected to spend somewhere between $15,000 and $20,000 upgrading the facility to bring it into compliance with state laws.
